The government will starting booster dose vaccination campaign from today. The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) had written a letter to the state health directorate and district health offices on Friday urging those on the front line to be given booster dose from January 16 and senior citizens above 60 years from January 28.
Accordingly, from today, health workers and hospital employees, security personnel, media personnel, public garbage collectors, sanitation workers, ambulance drivers, women health volunteers, employees working at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will be getting booster dose.
MoHP has also stated that booster doses will be given to government offices, community service organizations, banking services, public transport drivers and co-drivers.
Similarly, in the second phase, a booster dose will be given to senior citizens above 60 years of age and those with low immunity: cancer patients, transplant patients, HIV patients, and patients who have taken anti-depressant drugs during treatment.
One must have completed 6 months of full vaccination to get the booster dose.
