A youth from Ilam has been missing for seven days. Pujan Basnet, 22, of Soyang in Maijogmai village municipality-5 of Ilam has been without contact for seven days.
His family has informed that he has lost contact with India while preparing to go abroad. According to family sources, Basnet, who was preparing to go to Croatia through Virat Overseas, had gone to Kathmandu a month ago. He had gone to India through a group of young agents, including Basnet, to set up a traffic jam in a place called Pahadgunj in India for Croatia. It is said that he went to India on January 19 along with Kalyan Rai, an aide of Ekraj Sherma, an agent to take him abroad.
His brother Pukar Basnet informed that he was not able to get in touch even though he was staying at Gulaaf Hotel in India. According to him, Basnet was not at the hotel when the team including Ashish Ranabhat from Pokhara, who had left the hotel with him after booking a hotel for his stay, returned. Ashish said that Basnet lost contact from there. He was accompanied by Ranabhat, Man Prasad Yonghang, Man Bahadur Yonghang and Kalyan Rai of Morang.
The Basnet family is worried after the disappearance of their family members. The Basnet family has urged all concerned to find out more about the incident and search for the person without contact. There is confusion as to whether Basnet went out of the hotel alone or lost contact without knowing the hotel again or something else happened. The Basnet family has also requested for a search with the manpower.
