Newly appointed Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pande, is undergoing a floor test today. Vote of confidence is in today' schedule of the Province Assembly at 2:00pm, according to Spokesperson at Province Assembly Secretariat, Prem Prasad Subedi.
Province Chief Prithvi Man Gurung, on Monday, had called the Province Assembly session upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers for today.
Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Surendra Pande was appointed Chief Minister on April 27 with the support of a total 35 lawmakers- 27 from Nepali Congress, seven from CPN (Maoist Centre), and one from CPN (Unified Socialist). He is the fourth Chief Minister of Gandaki Province.
After securing a trust vote today, CM Pande is prepared to expand the Cabinet which has only the Chief Minister and two ministers without portfolio.
NC lawmaker Saraswati Aryal Tiwari and CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Sushila Simkhada had taken oaths of ministers without portfolio.
