General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Gagan Thapa has said that the party has achieved good results in the local level elections as the popularity of the party has increased at the grassroots level. Speaking at a function organized by the Nepali Congress Bhaktapur Election Mobilization Committee here today, he said that the party leaders and cadres should be engaged in the preparations for the general election without any delay.
General Secretary Thapa said, "The local level election has confirmed the growing popularity of the Congress at the grassroots level. This time, the Congress has achieved good results and success in the local level elections. Now the general election is being announced. There is not much time, so start preparing for it from today."
He said that the popularity of the Nepali Congress had increased as the UML could not function as per the trust given by the people. He stressed on the need for the Congress to work on behalf of the people and increase its current success. He said that the country had entered a new chapter with the success of local elections.
General Secretary Thapa also expressed his commitment that the party would not repeat any weakness in the selection of Bhaktapur candidate in the upcoming general election and would give tickets to the person chosen by Bhaktapur. He instructed the people's representatives elected from his party at the local level to do the work of the people without discriminating any particular party and not to do anything that should not be done.
General Secretary Thapa said, "Now the party evaluates the people's representatives at the local level. Don't forget this. The party evaluates how much work you should have done and how much work you should not do. The card has been arranged. ” Giving instructions to the people's representatives to focus on the rights, accountability, services, policy arrangements, resource management, coordination and institutional issues of the citizens, he also expressed his commitment to provide expert, management and fulfill other demands from the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Congress Bhaktapur District President Durlabh Thapa said that action would be taken against all those involved in sabotage in the local elections. On the occasion, Surendra Shrestha, who will be elected as the chief of Madhyapur municipality from the Nepali Congress, and Jeevan Khatri, who was elected as the chief of Changunarayan municipality, expressed their commitment to work according to the party's direction and resolution. On the occasion, 65 elected people's representatives from Madhyapurthimi, Suryabinayak and Changunarayan municipalities were honored.
