Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel on Saturday said the democracy and the NC were in crisis as the party engaged in internal strife. He also called all inside the party to be united to ensure NC as people's first choice.
"Democracy and the NC are in crisis. As a result, Nepal has been pushed towards a disaster. Time has come for the party to review itself and there is a need for it to be corrected to save the country," said the leader, addressing the second and third representative assemblies of the Nepal Teachers' Association, Baglung in Gandaki Province level.
Stating that NC's failure to attract people despite the communist party's split is a result of 'weak' leadership, he stressed the need for party 'correction', which he said should begin from the grassroots level. "I do not think NC will be reformed from upper level. So, remedy should be sought from people's level."
In response to a question whether NC joins a new government, leader Paudel said the party was ready to lead a new government if it means for the welfare of the country.
