Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung shared that there were plans for reforms in the judicial sector and the Supreme Court was active to set a timeline to clear the backlog of cases at the earliest.

Responding to the queries of parliamentarians in Monday's meeting of the House of Representatives, Minister Gurung said that a strategy is being developed to settle old and arrears cases.

On a different note, Gurung assured that the appointment of the Justices would be done in a fair manner and there will not be politically-driven sharing of seats while appointing the Justice.

Stating that the government was working towards delivering justice to the justice seekers in a quick and easy manner, he shared that the government recently launched an automation system for conducting hearings on cases in the Supreme Court.

The automation system that is expected to curb irregularities in the court would be implemented in other courts gradually, according to the Minister.

Responding to the queries related to his Ministry, Minister Rai said that education up to secondary level was made free in all community schools as per the law that mandates compulsory and free education.

According to him, a Bill related to Khwopa University would be presented in the parliament fulfilling all procedures.

Parliamentarians Prem Suwal and Dilendra Prasad Badu had questioned the Minister in the meeting.
