A Joint Election Operations Center (JEOC) is being set up in the commission on April 23 with the representation of the Election Commission and the security agencies.
Joint Secretary of the Commission, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defense, and Representation of Gazetted Second Class Officers of the Security Forces will be at the Center in order to conduct the election in a systematic and effective manner. The nomination of candidates in the local level election which will be held on Friday, May 13 is taking place on April 24 and 25.
The main task of the Center will be to coordinate and facilitate the establishment of the Election Office. It will also be responsible for immediately receiving the progress report on the election program run by the District Election Office, and the Office of the Election Officer. JEOC then must submit it to the Commission through the Secretariat.
It is the Center's responsibility to coordinate and liaise with various security agencies to understand the election-related situation and submit it to the commission with security, and to provide necessary information and details to all through the spokesperson.
The Center will make suggestions to the Commission and the concerned bodies to make necessary arrangements for resolving the issues raised by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, District Election Office, and other bodies. The center will also collect and analyze, prevent and resolve the incidents of election security and election violence.
Information related to election management will be collected, processed, analyzed, and updated and daily reporting will be done by the center. The Center is responsible for submitting the final report to the Commission after the completion of the election.
