Opposition alliance to form Cabinet on Tuesday

The five-party opposition alliance has welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to reinstate the House of Representatives today.

A constitutional bench led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana today ordered the reinstatement of the House of Representatives and the appointment of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as prime minister.

The meeting of the opposition alliance held at the residence of CPN UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal in Koteshwor this evening extended gratitude to all the parties who took part in the agitation for the reinstatement of the HoR.

Nepali Congress leader Bal Krishna Khand was quoted in Rastriya Samachar Samiti as saying that, the meeting of the top leaders would be held again to decide on the issue. He said that the leaders had discussed on forming a small cabinet on Tuesday and moving forward by including all the parties.

After the meeting, former Prime Minister and Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal leader Baburam Bhattarai also welcomed the court's decision and expressed confidence that the alliance would move forward to solve the problems being faced by the country. Bhattarai said the new government will be made effective in solving the problems.

Likewise, CPN (Maoist Center) leader Dev Bahadur Gurung informed that discussions were held on to forge consensus among all the participants in the process of re-establishing the HoR.

In the meeting, leader Nepal made a commitment that he would always support the struggle for the protection of the constitution and democracy.

Others present in the meeting were NC President Deuba, CPN MC Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, Rastriya Janamorcha Vice-Chairman Durga Poudel among other leaders.
