The District Election Office has intensified the internal preparations for the upcoming local elections. The government has set the date for the local elections on April 12 and the election office is busy preparing.
With the announcement of the date, the voter list compilation has been postponed. Work is underway to update the voter list. It has been called to protest the claim on the list. Office chief Madhav Phunyal informed that internal preparations have been started for holding the election on the date fixed by the government. In case of loss of voter identity card, it is invited to apply for a new one and the voter list will be published on March 6. He said, "We will publish the voter list in all the wards of the district on March 3, then the work of correcting and removing will be done at the election office."
After the publication of the voter list, the deadline for protesting against the names of those who have died and migrated has been fixed till March 8. The protest form should be submitted to the Election Office by March 8. In addition, the Election Office has started preparations for publishing the voters' list, determining the number of polling stations and numbers, and managing the staff.
There are 129 polling stations in the district for local elections. According to the Election Office, more than 150,000 people have registered their names in the voters' list with photographs.
