A meeting of the ruling coalition held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar this morning has decided to approve the US Assistance Project (MCC) from the parliament with an explanatory announcement.
After the meeting, Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel informed the media that the meeting decided to approve the meeting after the government clarified that the MCC was purely financial support and not a military one.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, and other top leaders of the coalition parties in Baluwatar.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Maoist center held this morning had decided to approve the MCC with explanatory remarks.
