Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Agni Prasad Sapkota, has said he is committed to his duties for the people and their goodwill.
During his two-day stay in his home district Sindhupalchwok, the Speaker said people's support is very important during the 53rd anniversary of the Ghichet Usidum Secondary School at Lisankhupakhar rural municipality-3 on Sunday.
As he said, he is indebted to the people for their trust and faith in him and whatever they had given to him as a political figure. “I hereby vow before you that I will fight for the cause of people till the last moments of my life no matter where I am and will be. I will never let you complain that your representative from Sindhupalchowk-1 did anything wrong," he said.
Recalling the moment when he survived the three rounds of gunfire simultaneously at Thokarpa of the district on March 27, 2006, he said he now realized that his survival was for the people and the nation.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) former leader admitted that he was getting a limited time to meet the district people since he assumed the post of Speaker on January 27, 2020. He went on to say that he acknowledged the contribution of people from Sindhupalchowk -1 people who voted him.
The Speaker took time to recall the dissolution of the House twice during his term, underlining the need of moving ahead united.
