CPN-UML's Prem Bahadur Maharjan has been elected to the post of member of the House of Representatives from Lalitpur constituency no. 2.
Maharjan was elected with a total of 15,025 votes, according to election officer Dipshikha Munakarmi. "Of the total 51,355 valid votes cast, he got 15,025 to be elected."
His closest contender was Sudin Shakya of Hamro Nepal Party, who got 8,886 votes while Buddha Ratna Maharjan of Rastriya Swatantra Party got 8,666 votes.
Likewise, the common candidate representing the ruling alliance, Krishna Lal Maharjan of CPN (Unified Socialist) got 8,264 and RPP's Raghavraj Thapa got 6,046 votes.
