The predetermined time for voting for the selection of members of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly has ended. The Election Commission had fixed the polling time from 7 am to 5 pm today. According to the Election Commission, voting was completed peacefully in most places of the country.
However, voters who entered the polling station by 5 o'clock were allowed to cast their vote. Voting has been stopped in Dolakha, Bajura, Siraha, Nawalparasi East and other places due to disputes. The Election Commission said that efforts are being made to start voting in those places. The voting time has been fixed till 7 pm at Patu Bangaon polling station in Tulsipur, Dang, which was stopped for a while when the ballot papers were different.
The work of collecting the ballot boxes from the polling place is continuing. Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapalia informed that the counting of votes will start from this evening.
Since it takes time to collect the ballot boxes from the remote Himalayan districts, the commission has prepared to vote only from Monday. Arrangements have been made for the collection of ballot boxes by helicopter in remote areas.
