Nepal Telecom (NT) is testing its ‘Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE)' service from today. The telecom company mentioned in a statement that the new facility is being launched to provide better ‘voice’ service to its customers.
The test transmission has been started from today on the occasion of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, which is marked on May 17 every year.
The new service will be accessible to both prepaid and postpaid mobile subscribers who have mobile phones with 4G capability. As per NT, VoLTE offers high-definition voice, and calls will be connected as soon as a subscriber dials a number.
Nepal Telecom has informed that if any subscriber wants to know whether their phone supports VoLTE or wants information on how to avail of the service they can log in to www.ntc.net.np/post/volte.
