A total of 15 players from Nepal have registered for the mega action of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a total of 1214 players have registered for the IPL 2022 Player Action, including 15 players from Nepal.
The deadline for player registration was January 20. Among them, 896 Indian and 318 foreign players have registered their names.
The 10 teams will select players from the game to be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13.
Of the players registered for the action, 270 are capped. Similarly, 903 players are uncapped and 41 players are under the associate player. Last season, Sandeep Lamichhane was included in the mini-auction but no team signed him.
In IPL, each team will be able to have a maximum of 25 people in the team. A maximum of 217 players will be selected from auction, the BCCI said in a statement.
Apart from India, Australia has the highest number of players for auction. Similarly, 48 players from South Africa and 41 from West Indies have registered.
Among the associate nations, 15 from Nepal, 14 from the United States, three from Namibia, three from Oman, and one each from Bhutan, the Netherlands, Scotland, and the UAE have registered for the auction.
