Twenty members of the Nepali national football team including players and officials selected for the closed training session have tested positive for the coronavirus. The All Nepal Football Association has informed that the training camp has been halted due to this reason.
The closed training session was supposed to have started from today.
Spokesperson of All Nepal Football Association, Kiran Rai, informed that during the tests conducted prior to the start of the closed training session 20 members tested COVID-19 positive. Rai also mentioned that a test has again been conducted on those who tested positive. He said those infected are currently in isolation.
Newly appointed coach, Abdullah Al Mutairi, has listed 50 players for the closed training session. The closed training session is being organised in preparation for the upcoming SAF Championship and the final qualification round of the AFC Asian Cup.
According to an earlier plan, the session will be conducted at the ANFA complex in Satdobato. The players have been divided into two groups and training will be conducted separately at 10 am and 4 pm.
