Ang Tshiring Sherpa 2nd Memorial Golf tournament: Leading points of the day

Ang Tshiring Sherpa 2nd Memorial golf tournament is a way to keep the legacy of an avid golfer with a big heart. The Golf Tournament, taking place in Gokarna Forest Resort, holds big importance in people who had a chance to know and feel Ang Tshiring Sherpa’s presence in their life.

Deepak Acharya, Senior Golf Director at Gokarna Forest Golf course, reminiscing Ang Tshiring Sherpa, says, “Ang Tshiring will always be missed not only to someone close to him but also to those in the tourism industry and the sportsmen alike. He is known for his presence, his participation along with his initiation in taking golf to a next level in the nation. This tournament in his name is a tribute to him, a man with not only a big personality but also with a big heart.” As for the tournament and how it is different from the one last year, Acharya adds, “The turnout this year is even more than what we had seen last year which shows how important he was for many.”

With around 70 players, here are the leading players on the first day of the tournament:

Men’s category:

  • Nett winner: Rabin Phuyal
  • Nett Runner-up: Nishkarsha Bahadur Ghale
  • Best Gross: Mithun Rai
  • Best Gross runner-up: Pemba Sherpa

Ladies’ Category:

  • Winner: Gita Gurung
  • Runner up: Prativa Rai

Senior Category:

  • Winner: Brig General Dilip Rayamajhi

Kids Category:

  • Winner: Aaeisteena Tondon

Most birdies: Pemba Sherpa

Closest to the Pin: Tara Karki ChitraKar
