A beach volleyball competition kicked off on Mahakali river bank at Bhimdatta Municipality-12 on Monday.
Inaugurating the volleyball competition, Sudurpaschim Province Chief Devraj Joshi said the tournament would help promote tourism in the region. "Sports are beneficial for one's health and for the country's tourism. Such events should be held time and again," he observed.
The beach sport organized jointly by District Volleyball Association and the Nepal Army would continue till Monday. A total of 32 teams are participating in the event. It would be played both in open and veteran categories. Nine teams are playing under the veteran category.
It was informed that the first team would secure the prize of Rs 100 thousand while, second Rs 50,000 and the third Rs 25,000.
