Nepali runner Pushpa Bhandari bags bronze medal in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon 2022 in Bangladesh. Bhandari finished third in the South Asian category. Last year, she had won gold in the same category.
Bhandari completed the prescribed distance in 2 hours 55 minutes and 35 seconds. She had completed the same distance in 2 hours 59 minutes and 41 seconds last year.
Chandra Gurung, the coach of the Nepali team, said that the Indian runners were good this time. India's Aarti Dattatraya Patil bagged gold medal with 2 hours 53 minutes and 28 seconds while India's Jyoti Gawate won the silver in 2 hours 54 minutes and 15 seconds.
Similarly, two male players from Nepal who also had competed in the South Asian quota: Kiran Singh Bogati and Bugatha Srinu. While Bogati finished the race in 2 hours 23 minutes and 43 seconds placing on fifth position and Srinu won gold medal with a time of 2 hours 16 minutes and 26 seconds.
