Namche Youth Club won the first match in Khumbu Lhosar Cup Football on Monday in Sanagoucharan, Kathmandu. Chhiring Paljor Sherpa scored the only decisive goal and became man of the match. The host Khumjung Youth Club was however defeated by 1-0.
Similarly, in the second match, Mahendra Jyoti Ex-Students' Forum dominated from the beginning of the game and defeated Khunde Community Club. Mahendra Club strengthened its chances in the previous round with a comprehensive victory of 4-1 goal difference. Nawang Tasi Sherpa was chosen as the man of the match.
The competition organized by Khumjung Youth Club that commenced on February 11 will be conducted till the 18th of February. 8 teams participated in the competition. There will be a total of 15 matches in the tournament which will be continued for 8 days.
This competition has been organized for the last 12 years on the occasion of Lhosar, the great festival of the Sherpa community.
This football tournament is organized every year with the aim of bringing out the passion and talent of the young generation who are born in different villages of Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality and Khumbu region and is scattered around the country and abroad.
