President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed her confidence that festivals like Gyalpo Lhosar would further increase mutual goodwill, tolerance, and fraternity among Nepali people and subsequently further strengthen national unity.
Gyalpo Lhosar, the cultural festival of the Sherpa community that falls on the Shukla Pratipada in the Nepali month of Falgun is being marked today by organizing different programs.
The competition organized by Khumjung Youth Club from Saturday will be conducted till the 18th of February. There will be a total of 15 matches in the tournament, held for 8 days.
The 13th edition of the "Khumbu Lhosar Cup" which has been held for the past 12 years to mark the New Year Lhosar, the great festival of the Sherpa community, begins today.
