Nepal has won by four wickets against Papua New Guinea (PNG) in Cricket World Cup League-2.
After losing the toss, Papua New Guinea went into bat and scored 203 runs by losing 9 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Nepal, who came into bat with a target of 204 runs, lost 6 wickets and completed the winning target in 45.2 overs.
Last week, Nepal won all 4 matches and won all 4 matches against Namibia and Scotland of League-2 in the home ground. Nepal had won four matches in a row from February 2020 to September 2021 in ODIs.
After 29 matches, Nepal is in the sixth position of the seven-nation League-2 with 28 points. If Nepal wins 4 of the remaining 7 matches, it will be in the top five and maintain its one-day international status, while if it wins 6 matches, it will become the top 3 nations and reach the World Cup qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe in July.
After playing 2-2 games with Papua New Guinea and UAE in the tour of UAE, Nepal will come to Kathmandu and play another 2-2 games with these two teams to end the journey of League-2.
