Nepal will play against Oman in the inaugural match of the ICC World Twenty20 Global Selection 'A'.
The inaugural match between Nepal and Oman is set to be played as per the schedule of the T20 Global Selection announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) today.
Nepal is in Group-A under the global selection. Nepal's group includes Oman, Bahrain, Canada, Germany, Ireland, the Philippines, and United Arab Emirates (UAE). These eight teams are also divided into two groups. Group-1 includes Nepal, Oman, Canada, and the Philippines, while Group-2 includes Ireland, UAE, Bahrain, and Germany. The inaugural game will be held in Oman on February 18. The two teams that reach the final in this group will make it to the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October-November.
Similarly, Nepal will play its second match against the Philippines on February 19 and its third match against Canada on February 21.
Nepal will play a four-nation T20 series before playing in the World Cup qualifiers. In the series to be held in Oman, there will be competition between Nepal, UAE, Ireland, and home team Oman. The series will run from February 11 to February 14.
Nepal will play the first match against Oman on Feb 11 and the second match against UAE on February 12.
Similarly, Nepal will play its third match against Ireland on February 14.
