Nepal loses to Sri Lanka United-11

Nepal, who are on a tour of Sri Lanka, lost their fourth and final practice match by 92 runs to Sri Lanka United-11. Following the winning target of 233 runs set by Sri Lanka's United-11, Nepal lost all their wickets in 35.2 overs and were all out for 140 runs. Gyanendra Malla top-scored for Nepal with 46 off 62 balls with five fours and one six. Similarly, Kushal Bhurtel scored 32 runs while Rohit Kumar Poudel contributed 21 runs. Arif Sheikh added 13 runs, Sompal Kami added eight runs, Asif Sheikh added five runs, Dipendra Singh Airy added two runs while Binod Bhandari and Sagar Dhakal added one run each. S Daksina of Sri Lanka United-11 took 3 wickets and Dilsan Munvira took 2 wickets.


Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Sri Lanka United-11 lost all their wickets in 48.2 overs for a total of 232 runs. Anuk Fernando top-scored for United 11 with 56 runs while Sandun Virakkodi added 49 runs. Dilsan Munavira added 14 runs, Upul Tharanga added 3 runs and Thisera Perera added 8 runs. Chamara Silva and Nisantha were out for 6 and 18 runs respectively. Kumaraswamy was out for 30 and Dilruwan Perera for 14. Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airy and Sagar Dhakal took the same 3/3 wickets. Sompal Kami took 2 wickets and Sandeep Lamichhane took 1 wicket.


Nepal had earlier won three practice matches. Nepal defeated Sri Lanka Navy Sports Club by 111 runs in the first practice match and Navy by 82 runs in the second match. Similarly, in the third practice match played yesterday, Nepal defeated Sri Lanka Police by 144 runs. Nepal's tour of Sri Lanka has ended with this game. The Nepali team will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on March 12 to play a triangular one-day series against UAE and Papua New Guinea under the ICC World Cup League 2.
