In celebration of Constitution Day, the Himalayan Chess Academy organized the Patriotic Pawn Chess Championship, showcasing the exceptional talent of 49 young participants. The competition was held in a Rapid format, divided into various age categories: U-7, U-9, U-11, and U-13. The event was managed by Chief Arbiter FA Dipesh Giri and NA Raju Maharjan, NA Rajiv Gubaju, NA Dharma Raj Sorali.
In the Girls' U-7 category, Rubresri Chaulagain emerged victorious, followed closely by Aahana Shah in second place and Shuvani Pandit securing third.
The Girls' U-9 section saw Agarta Acharya dominate the field, finishing with an impressive 5 points. Amisha Koirala claimed the second position with 4 points, while Priyansha Pradhan rounded out the top three with 3 points.
In the Girls' U-11 category, Nihana Shrestha took first place with 2 points, followed by Nayuma Magar in second and Doma Tamang in third.
For the Girls' U-13 division, Angel Maharjan captured the title, with Kristi Rijal earning the runner-up spot.
Boys' Section:
The Boys' U-7 group was fiercely competitive, with Shubhanga Pradhan from Rato Bangala School and Sayash Basnet from Shangri-La Public School both achieving 4½ points. However, Shubhanga triumphed due to tiebreaker rules. Avan Maharjan secured third place with 3 points.
In the Boys' U-9 category, Saumil Chitrakar from Nisarga Batika School led the way with 4 points, while Elbik Adhikari also scored 4 points but settled for second place based on tiebreaks. Utkarsh Giri finished third with 3½ points.
Prasit Khanal excelled in the Boys' U-11 category, winning with a perfect score of 5 points. Saatwik Man Tuladhar claimed the second spot with 4 points, while Leon Maharjan also finished strong, earning third place with 4 points.
The Boys' U-13 division was won by Prabir K.C. with 4½ points. Nischal Rimal and Tapash Tamang both reached 3½ points, with Nischal securing second place through tiebreaks.
The top three winners from each category were awarded medals, e-certificates, and trophies by the Chief Guest, Amisha Shrestha, President of All Angels Nepal and Monalisha Khamboo Founder of Himalayan Chess Academy, Thapathali.
