Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who is on trial for rape, has been questioned in the Parliament about the Cricket World Cup being played.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Sumana Shrestha has questioned the morals that allowed Lamichhane to represent the nation.
Speaking at today's House of Representatives meeting, Shrestha said, 'How did our morality allow a rape accused to be the representative of the nation? What will be the mental state of the victim?' She says that due to this incident, the risk of pushing the victim into greater mental depression has increased.
Stating that the work of the judiciary is not agile, correct, and transparent, the society is also divided on legal issues, she said that the case against Sandeep Lamichhane should be resolved quickly.
