The Beni-Jomsom-Thasang section of the Kaligandaki corridor will be closed for four hours daily from February 13.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Mustang, Ram Chandra Dhakal, said that it has been decided to close the Beni-Jomsom section of the corridor in Thasang village of Mustang from Feb 13 due to road blockade. It has been decided to close the road daily till Feb 27 by the decision of the District Security Committee.
The Beni-Jomsom section of the Kaligandaki Corridor is the only road connecting the Trans-Himalayan district of Mustang. The Nepal Army is planning to widen the road by using explosives on the hard rocks of Kavre and Badarjung hills in Thasang village municipality-4. All types of vehicles will be banned for 4 hours between 10 am and 4 pm.
