Climbers from Russia and Ukraine are coming to Nepal to climb the mountain. Nineteen male and six female climbers have been allowed to climb by the Russian Federation. Of them, 12 men and 4 women have received permission from the Department of Tourism, Government of Nepal to climb the world's highest peak, Mount Everest.
Antonina Samoilova, the only female climber from Ukraine, is trying to climb Mt. Everest. Her goal is to garner worldwide support against Russia by hoisting her country's flag on the summit of Mount Everest.
She has climbed Kilimanjaro in Africa, Elbrus in Europe and Mount Vinson in Antarctica.
Irina Galle is the first woman from Ukraine to climb Mt. Everest. But the ascent of Everest has not started yet as the work of rope fixing is still left.
It is customary for the climbers to worship the mountain before starting the ascent. They set a date for such worship after consulting the Buddhist lamas. World-renowned climber Kamirita Sherpa is currently at the Everest Base Camp. They reached the base camp on April 12 by helicopter. The worship of Kamirita's group, who are currently busy preparing for the base camp, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 17 at the base camp. He said that he will start fixing the rope soon.
The climbing route from the Everest base camp to the second camp has been completed with the active participation of the Everest Pollution Control Committee. Icefall doctors constructed and maintained the route. Now the work of rope fixing from the second camp to the summit of Everest is being done under the leadership of renowned climber Kamirita Sherpa. Kamirita, who has climbed Mt. Everest 25 times so far, is planning to set a new world record by reaching the summit 26 times this time.
This time climbers are coming to Everest with the goal of setting various records. There are also Nepali Haribudha Magar who have lost both their legs in this team.
Climber Magar, who lost both his legs in Afghanistan while serving in the British Army, will be skydiving on Mt. Everest this time.
