The Airlines Association, the airline's umbrella organization, has demanded the removal of PCR testing and CCMC forms on international flights.

Stating that the infection rate of COVID epidemic has decreased and the risk is less, the association has requested in a press release to facilitate the tourism industry by removing the provisions for COVID prevention. The association claims that COVID infections are declining worldwide and that most countries have eased sanctions.

"As neighboring India, Vietnam and other European countries have abolished the requirement of PCR testing for air travel, we immediately request the federal government to provide relief to the tourism industry by immediately removing the provision of PCR testing and filling up of CCMC forms in Nepal to make it easier for tourists," the statement said.

The tourism industry, which has been hardest hit by the epidemic, is still mired in confusion and uncertainty. The association has pointed out that due to the sharp decline in the number of foreign tourist arrivals in the last two years, some of the dependent businesses in the region will be closed forever and skilled manpower will flee. From the only Tribhuvan International Airport in the country, 29 airlines, including three Nepalis, have been operating international flights.
