Most domestic flights have been affected as the sky did not clear well in the morning. Passengers are stranded at the internal terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) due to the delay.
According to the airport office, flights from Kathmandu could not be operated due to low visibility due to fog and mist. Scheduled flights have been delayed in Biratnagar, Bharatpur, Surkhet, Pokhara, Dhangadhi and other areas this morning. At present, while domestic flights are affected, international flights are running smoothly.
For domestic flights, the visibility at TIA should be more than 3,000 meters, however the visibility this morning was only 1,500 meters. At eight o'clock, it has risen to 2,000 meters.
In the Terai districts, the required visibility varies according to the airport. In Bhairahawa, for example, visibility is 1,500 meters, while in Pokhara, 5,000 meters is required.
