A plane is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on 17 February for a calibration flight at Gautam Buddha International Airport, which is preparing for the operation. Meanwhile, technicians are making necessary preparations for flights at the airport.
According to Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Pradip Adhikari, the date has been fixed as requested by the company to bring it to Nepal one week ahead of the earlier estimated date. From the calibration flight, it will be seen whether the connected devices are working in the operation of the airport. After that, a test flight will be conducted from the plane of Nepal Airlines at the airport.
Aeronautical Radio of Thailand has been given the responsibility of technical work including equipment connection at the airport. The same company is responsible for bringing the plane and flying the calibration flight.
According to the Director-General, the physical work of the airport has been completed. Now the technical tests should be completed for commercial operation.
