Baraha Kshetra Municipality, Chatradham Sunsari is going to hold a month-long ' Pindeshwar Purna Mahakumbh' fair from April 9 to May 10.
In a press conference held today at the Prime Minister's Office, Jagatguru Balasanta Mohansharan Devacharya informed that the twelve-yearly Mahakumbha Mela is going to be organized with the aim of making it known to the world as a religious, cultural and touristic place. Guru Devacharya informed that more than one crore devotees from 10 countries including Nepal, India and Bangladesh are expected to attend the Mahakumbha Mela.
Kumbha Mela has been organized for a long time in Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh), Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh), Nashik (Maharashtra) and Haridwar (Uttarakhand) in four places in India. Mahakumbha has been organized in Barah chetra since 2059 B.S on the initiative of Jagatguru Devacharya. Ardha Kumbha fair is organized here every six years and Purna Maha Kumbh fair every 12 years. Barahkshetra located on the banks of Saptakoshi River and Pindeshwar Dham of Dharan is connected with Kumbha Mela, Kumbh Mela is being organized in this area.
The Maha Kumbha Mela Preparation Committee was formed under the coordination of Prime Minister's Office Secretary Arjun Pokharel. Secretary Pokharel informed that security and other necessary arrangements have been made for the devotees to travel to the fair. He also informed that all necessary preparations for this fair have been completed.
