As the great Nepali festival of Badadashian approaches, the number of passengers leaving Kathmandu valley has started increasing. While the number of passengers entering and leaving Kathmandu from September 18 to 23 was equal, at present, the number of outbound passengers is increasing, as per Metropolitan Traffic Police.
Analyzing the number of passengers entering and leaving Kathmandu, more than one hundred thousand passengers have officially left Kathmandu so far.
Chief of the Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Janak Bhattarai said, "The number of outbound passengers is gradually increasing and this number will increase after Dashain holiday begins."
Advance ticket sales for the vehicle were opened from October 8 and even now, the pressure of passengers to buying tickets is high.
To avoid big crowds at the counter, police is providing service by setting up passenger assistance class at the main places of the valley. They are also urging passengers for safe travel. It is said that there are less people in the valley than last year due to COVID-19.
Police Spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar informed that the police have been deployed to control fraud, black market and theft criminal activities.
The Police Headquarters has requested all to be careful during the festive season and contact the nearest police office in case of any problem.
