Mustang entry: PCR test or vaccination card mandatory

Due to the scare of new COVID variant, Omicron, PCR report or vaccination card has been made mandatory to enter Mustang district. After the second wave of COVID infection, the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Mustang has finally increased.

Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma said that the entry of Mustang has been tightened considering the risk of new variant of coronavirus around the world. According to him, especially for tourists, those who do not have a negative PCR report within seven days or vaccination card or antigen test report within 72 hours are barred from entering.

The meeting of the District Covid-19 Management Committee has decided that this condition will not be applicable for the permanent residents of Mustang and fully vaccinated staff, teachers and security personnel. "We have tightened the rules for those who come to visit Mustang from 12 noon on December 2 to midnight of December 15. Besides that, strict orders have been issued for various activities in the district," said Prajia Sharma. "We have tightened the rules due to the risk the new variant of COVID-19,” he added.

The meeting of the District COVID-19 Management Committee has also ordered not to hold crowded programs such as fairs, festivals, banquets and bazaars in public places. Similarly, an order has been issued not to allow more than 25 people to gather if they have to perform compulsory duties such as marriage, fasting and death rites.
