Nepal has resumed issuing 'on arrival visa' for travellers visiting the country.

The 'on arrival visa' will be issued to the foreign nationals who are from the countries approved for obtaining visas from Nepal. The travellers will have to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 at least 14 days before their arrival.

The travellers applying for the 'on arrival visa' are required to submit the following documents to the immigration office at the entry points in Nepal:

  1.  Evidence that shows that the traveller has been fully vaccinated 14 days before the arrival
  2.  A traveller has to produce an RT-PCR negative report that has not crossed 72 hours at the time of arrival in Nepal
  3. Travellers are also required to submit a copy of various permits including mountain climbing expedition or trekking
  4. Hotel booking documents
  5. Copy of 'International Traveller Online Form' filled up on the website www.ccmc.gov.np

The order has made it mandatory for all travellers to undergo antigen test of COVID-19 at the immigration at the entry points. Those who tested positive in the test will have to visit the hospital and stay in an isolation centre listed by the Ministry of Health and Population.

When the antigen test is not available at the immigration point, the travellers have to undergo the antigen test at the hotel and are not allowed to go outside until the test report comes out.

Travellers who have yet to complete the vaccination can also enter the country, but they have to apply for visas via travel agents before their arrival. Upon arrival, they will have to quarantine themselves for 10 days before going on travel.
