Nepali climber aims to climb the Seven Summits within a year

Nepalese mountaineer Prakashraj Pandey aims to climb the highest mountains of 7 continents within a year.

He is starting his Seven Summits climbing journey from Mount Elbrus, the largest mountain in Europe which is located in Russia. He is leaving for Moscow, the capital of Russia tomorrow.

Chatur Tamang, a record-holder climber of Nepal, is helping him to climb Mount Elbrus. Chatur Tamang is now in Russia. He has claimed to have climbed Mount Elbrus 124 times so far.

He has climbed that mountain 3 times in the last few days.


Climber Pandey currently has to spend personally on this campaign. Not much support could be gathered. He is also expecting the support of government agencies.

After Mount Elbrus, he will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the biggest mountain in Africa. After that, his goal is to go to the mountains of other continents.

Finally, he plans to climb Mount Everest.

He has already climbed Mount Everest in 2018. He has climbed 6 different mountains including Manaslu, and Amadablam.

Born in Ramechhap, Prakashraj Pandey has been involved in scouting for a long time. He also aims to promote Nepal's mountains and raise issues related to climate change during the Seven Summit campaign.

In this season, the chairman of Yeti Group and senior tourism Entrepreneur Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa succeeded in climbing the Real Seven Summit as the first Nepali.
