The government has decided to allow even Nepali citizens to fly abroad on charter flights that are being operated at present to evacuate foreign nationals who have been stuck in Nepal due to the restriction on international flights.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has mentioned that such a circular had been issued by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Wednesday.
Though the government had halted regular international flights it had permitted charter flights. However, Nepali citizens were earlier not allowed to fly abroad on such charter flights. With the recent decision of the Civil Aviation Ministry, Nepalis too will be allowed to fly abroad on charter flights now.
This decision is likely to come as a great relief for many migrant workers who have been stuck in the country due to the unavailability of international flights.
