There is a problem in the communication equipment of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). The flight was affected for about half an hour in the morning due to technical problems as per the TIA office.

Chief of Tribhuvan International Airport, Prem Nath Thakur, said that the equipment has been kept running by making alternative arrangements. There was a slight problem with the radar. But we are working with caution," said Thakur.

Domestic and international flights have been affected since Thursday morning due to malfunction of information system. As a result, flights to various sectors scheduled for this morning have been canceled. Three scheduled flights to Pokhara, Bhairahawa and Biratnagar have been canceled. Other flights have been delayed.

At present, TIA is operating a system that allows one flight, landing every 15 minutes. Under normal circumstances, the flight and landing takes place every 2-3 minutes. It is said that the system was damaged due to water leakage in the building with communication equipment.

A team including NEA Director General Pradip Adhikari has also monitored the situation at the airport on Thursday morning.

Airlines, meanwhile, have called on passengers to arrive at the airport only on time, saying flights have been affected by delays. So many airlines have asked to call 01-5970074. Buddha Air has said that all the information related to the flight is in the app and has informed to go to the airport only after looking at the time.
