Immediately after the National General Convention of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), tourism activity has increased in the intermediate zone of Chitwan National Park. As party leaders, representatives, and cadres have come for the ongoing general convention of CPN-UML in Chitwan, the tourism activities in the park and the intermediate zone are in full swing.
Secretary of Baghmara Community Forest Office, Hari Acharya, said that the number of elephant safaris and jungle safaris has more than doubled in the last three days. "The UML General Convention has brought a new wave in the tourism activities which have been closed for a long time due to coronavirus," he said. We believe this will have a very positive impact in a long run."
One-horned rhinoceros, which are considered rare, are the most alluring aspects of the parks and intermediate areas. He said that a person going on a jungle safari can easily see up to six one-horned rhinoceros, birds, wild boars, three species of spotted deers, and endangered crocodiles. "Sometimes you can even see leopards and tigers," said Secretary Acharya.
UML general convention representative Harihar Pokharel said that the jungle safari was very exciting. "The jungle safari was a lot of fun. We got to see rare animals frequently," he said. The jungle safari needs to be organized. ” Stating that the Sisau tree is an important asset of the government, Pokharel said that the tree should be protected.
"I saw a lot of fallen trees while going on a jungle safari. It is important to manage them," he said.
Netra Prasad Dahal of Morang said that he came to Chitwan for the first time for the General Convention and got involved in tourism activities here. "I had a dream of coming to Chitwan to see rhinos. This dream was fulfilled at the General Convention," he said.
Chitwan is the third largest tourist destination in the country. Recently, tourist activities have increased in the surrounding areas including the National Parks. Delegates visit Sauraha on a daily basis for jeep safaris and elephant safaris to observe the park and the intermediate zone. Separate liveliness has been added to Sauraha and surrounding areas. Entrepreneurs are confident that the General Convention will have a long-term impact on the sluggish tourism activities.
