Yeti Airlines, Nepal's leading private airline, has received International Aviation Permit- Air Operator's Certificate (AOC). The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) on Thursday granted permission for international flights.
Sudarshan Bartaula, spokesman for the airline, said it would start flying to Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in Southeast Asia as soon as the permit was obtained. According to him, the airlines is preparing to fly to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, India immediately. "It may take time to plan, but we will do the charter flight immediately," he explained.
Yeti Airlines currently has ATR 72 aircraft capable of flying short distances and international destinations. Earlier, Nepal Airlines, Himalayan Airlines, Shree and Buddha Airlines have also taken flight permission.
