Yeti Airlines will be conducting 15 domestic flights daily from July 1. The company will be operating flights in the domestic sector from 6 am till 6 pm every day from the aforementioned date.
The government had halted all domestic and regular international flights during the prohibitory period. Only special flights had been allowed to operate after taking permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
However, based on a decision taken by the Council of Ministers on June 21 to resume the operation of domestic and international flights, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation had decided on June 23 to allow the resumption of domestic flights from July 1.
The responsibility to fix the dates from when the flights can resume operations had been given by the Cabinet to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. However, only 50 per cent of regular domestic flights will be allowed and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has been given the responsibility to manage the schedule.
According to Spokesperson of CAAN, Raj Kumar Chhetri, Yeti Airlines will be conducting 15 flights daily while Buddha Air will be operating 31 flights. Similarly, Shree Air will be conducting seven flights and Saurya Air will be operating three flights.
Meanwhile, Nepal Airlines, Tara Air, Summit Air and Sita Air will be operating two flights each every day, he informed. Hence, there will be a total of 64 domestic flights every day as permitted by the Council of Ministers, Chhetri added.
