Construction business should be made clean and quality: PM

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has pointed out the need to make the construction industry, which is the backbone of nation building, clean, professional and quality.

 Inaugurating the 23rd General Assembly and 12th Convention of the Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs of Nepal here today, he said it was necessary to build modern and quality infrastructure for the sustainable development of the country.

Prime Minister Deuba said that the prosperity of the country was possible only through the development and expansion of physical infrastructure. He said, "Overall development of the country is not possible without development of physical infrastructure and that is possible only through construction businessmen. The government is ready to work together to make the physical construction industry more professional and competitive. ”

 Prime Minister Deuba said that the construction business is a leading business in the country for building infrastructure and creating employment and it is necessary for the entrepreneurs to be serious and responsible towards their business. He stressed on the need to play a positive role in ensuring cost-effective and quality construction in the country by promoting fair competition in the construction business.

 The Prime Minister said that the rapid economic development of the country would be possible only through the clean and competitive development of the construction sector which would create the most employment opportunities in the country after agriculture.

Suggestions to take advantage of the MCC agreement

 Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that the Council of Ministers has passed the 11th amendment of the Public Procurement Regulations to make the construction industry prosperous as per the demand of the construction businessmen.

Praising the contribution made by the construction businessmen in the development of the country, he said, "The government is ready to move ahead in collaboration with the businessmen for the construction of quality construction industry." The problem is solved through the policy process. ”

 Prime Minister Deuba also suggested private sector organizations, including the Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs, to take advantage of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement, recently passed by the House of Representatives. He said, "Under the MCC project, international competition is a 'global tender'. Nepali businessmen should also participate in the competition." We are the happiest. When there is a global tender, construction businessmen of any country will be able to participate in the competition. China, India and other countries can also participate. ”

 Prime Minister Deuba also suggested the federation to select the leadership through fair competition. On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba released the mouthpiece of the federation. He also felicitated Keshav Sharma, Chairman of the Construction Business Promotion and Management Implementation Committee under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport for his significant contribution in the development and expansion of the construction industry.
