The Federation of Nepalese Commercial Goat Breeding (FNCGB) has demanded the provision of Farmer Credit Card, the development of electricity and infrastructure to protect agriculture and livestock entrepreneurs, and the provision of facilities including loan concessions.
FNCGB President Premsagar Poudel expressed confidence that the agricultural sector would develop in the country if the government could ensure easy access to banking services to the farmers and providing full vaccination to goats against PPR, insurance, training, social security and incentives.
FNCGB Treasurer Deepak Gautam expressed concern over the import of goats from India as the government has not been able to formulate a proper policy for domestic production even though 60 percent of the population engaged in agriculture is engaged in goat rearing. In the livestock sector, there is a problem of insurance companies not guaranteeing insurance and delaying the payment.
