Forex: US dollar hits new high

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the foreign currency exchange rates for today (Sunday).

The exchange rates for most currencies, including the US dollar, Australian dollar, Kuwaiti and Bahraini dinars, pounds, and euros, remain steady, with no changes from Saturday.

As per the published rates, the buying rate for one US dollar is 138 rupees 28 paisa, and the selling rate is 138 rupees 88 paisa, consistent with yesterday’s rates.

On Magh 2, the highest US dollar rate in the Nepali market was recorded at 138 rupees 32 paisa for buying and 138 rupees 92 paisa for selling. After a slight dip last week, the US dollar price has risen again towards the week’s end.

Additionally, today’s exchange rates show that the buying rate for one euro is 143 rupees 48 paisa, with the selling rate at 144 rupees 10 paisa.

The buying rate for one pound sterling is 171 rupees 60 paisa, and the selling rate is 172 rupees 34 paisa.

For the Australian dollar, the buying rate is 85 rupees 89 paisa, and the selling rate is 86 rupees 26 paisa.

The buying rate for one Kuwaiti dinar is 448 rupees 19 paisa, with the selling rate at 450 rupees 13 paisa.

Meanwhile, the buying rate for one Bahraini dinar is 366 rupees 81 paisa, while the selling rate is 368 rupees 40 paisa.
