Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supply, Ramesh Rijal, has said the government would extend utmost support to develop and promote the tile industry in the country.
Addressing a program organized on the occasion of the first anniversary of the country's first tile industry, Nepovit, at Jitpur of Bara district on Sunday, Minister Rijal vowed to promote a national industry that creates jobs and contributes to the national economy.
On the occasion, the company's brand ambassador and noted cine actor Rajesh Hamal viewed he was proud of being associated with the tile company which has maintained a standard of quality.
Similarly, the Chairman of Nepovit Industry, Shambhu Nath Jha, and Managing Director, Manoj Rauniyar, informed that Nepali consumers were provided the tile of international standard and quality at a reasonable cost.
Currently, Nepovit produces and supplies 10 percent of the total tiles purchased in Nepal. The tile is produced by blending Nepali clay, sand, and stone cinder.
The industry, set up at the cost of Rs 1.50 billion, has provided jobs to 350 persons.
Most of the cities in Nepal are buying the tiles produced by the Nepovit company, which was shared in the program.
