Many nightclubs in Kathmandu are set to open from today after the gap of nearly six months since the authorities had imposed the strict prohibitory order to stem the transmission of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the District Administration Offices in Kathmandu Valley have now allowed opening the nightclubs and other sections under the entertainment segment.
The nightclubs in the capital city are now found to have prepared well to resume the business.
The Club Fahrenheit based in Thamel has been fully prepared to resume the business from today. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club, Milan Shrestha, told NepalNews that the club has arranged things well keeping in mind the health safety measures. He said that the staff at the entrance would measure the temperature of customers with an infrared thermometer. He also said that the use of masks and sanitisers has been been made mandatory for the customers in the club.
"We are resuming the club after the gap of nearly six months, so we hope the business will gain momentum after some time," Shrestha said and added that the staff who were on leave have already been called back to duty. "We have planned to open the club till 2:00 am and we also hope the things will get better."
Likewise, Deepesh Shrestha, CEO of the Club Platinum located in Thamel said that the nightclub will only allow the customers those who have received vaccines against COVID-19. He also said that the club has offered a 10 to 15 per cent discount for the customers who visit along with the vaccination card. "We understand that there are many people who have not received vaccines yet. However, keeping in mind the risk of the viral infection we allow only those who have been vaccinated." Apart from that, the customers are required to wear masks compulsorily while the sanitisers have been kept at different spots for the customers.
Shrestha, CEO of the Club Platinum, said that the staff who had been working in the club previously were the ones to return to duty.
Likewise, Rabin Shrestha, CEO of LOD - LORD OF THE DRINKS Nepal in Thamel, said that they have planned to open the business till midnight as it is like we want to see what we can do to maintain the health safety protocols. "We are conscious about the risk of COVID-19, we would like to express our gratitude to the authorities who have finally tried to address our problems since we had closed the business for nearly six months," Shrestha said, and added that the company now hoped for the smooth running of the club. "Everybody knows that the businesses in the entertainment and hospitality sector have been hit hard. This is now an opportunity to work again to restore the business, and our staff are back to work," Shrestha said.
"We have arranged to maintain the health safety protocols by making the use of masks and sanitisers compulsory for our customers," Shrestha said and added that the rules stated in the prohibitory order will be followed strictly.
