NEPSE declines for third consecutive day this week

KATHMANDU: This is the third consecutive day of trading this week, as the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has seen a decline.

After continuously declining last week, the NEPSE index had increased by a few points on the last trading day. However, the index has declined again on all trading days this week.

According to NEPSE, the NEPSE index has decreased by 7.66 points to stand at 2,697.04. Today, 8,237,902 shares of 313 companies were bought and sold 50,834 times, resulting in a transaction worth Rs 4.34 billion 6.632 billion.

In today’s trading, the sub-indices of other groups increased by 0.11 percent, while the sub-indices of all other groups decreased. Banking group decreased by 0.14, Development Bank by 0.42, Finance by 0.17, Hotel and Tourism by 0.36, Hydropower by 0.17, Investment by 0.42 and Life Insurance by 0.70 percent. Similarly, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.23, Microfinance by 0.31, Mutual Fund by 0.37, Non-Life Insurance by 0.54 and Trade by 0.66 percent.

In today’s trading, the share price of Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited increased by the most by 9.96 percent, while the share price of Community Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited decreased by the most by 8.21 percent.

In terms of transaction amount, the highest number of shares traded today was of Himalayan Reinsurance Limited worth Rs. 321 million 1117 thousand 892. In terms of number of shares traded, the highest number of shares traded was of Ghalemdi Hydro Limited worth 768 thousand 543.
