NEPSE drops by 21 points on the first trading day

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has seen a double-digit decline on the first day of trading of the week. Today, the NEPSE index has dropped by 21.63 points to 2,714.85 points.

According to the NEPSE, 13.974452 shares of 316 companies were bought and sold 79,031 times, resulting in a transaction worth Rs 6.836640407.

Today, the business group increased by 4.92 percent, while all other sub-indices decreased. The sub-indices of the development bank group decreased the most by 2.25 percent. Banking 0.80, Finance 1.39, Hotels and Tourism 0.53, Hydropower 1.29, Investment 1.72, Life Insurance 1.06, Manufacturing and Processing 0.01, Microfinance 0.88, Mutual Fund 0.04, Non-Life Insurance 0.72 and other groups decreased by 1.52 percent.

The share price of Community Microfinance Financial Institution Limited has seen the highest increase of 8.19 percent today. The share price of Green Development Bank Limited has decreased by 7.91 percent.

In terms of transaction amount, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited has the highest transaction value of Rs. 586.68 million, 348 thousand. In terms of number of shares traded, Ghalemdi Hydro Limited has the highest transaction value of 1.193 thousand, 937 shares.
