NEPSE drops by 54.62 points today

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which continued to decline last week, has fallen by a high point on the first day of trading this week. Today, the NEPSE index fell by 54.62 points to settle at 2,614.68. This is a decline of 2.04 percent.

According to the NEPSE, 12.371 million shares of 317 companies were bought and sold 72,265 times, resulting in a transaction worth Rs 6.32 billion.141 billion, according to NEPSE.

In today’s trading, the banking group decreased by 1.47, development bank by 2.42, finance by 2.99, hotel and tourism by 2.23, hydropower by 2.33, investment by 2.05 and life insurance group by 1.85 percent.

Similarly, manufacturing and processing decreased by 1.46 percent, microfinance by 2.36 percent, mutual funds by 0.64 percent, non-life insurance by 2.07 percent, trade by 2.85 percent and other groups by 1.76 percent.

The share price of Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited increased by the highest by 8.72 percent. The share price of Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited fell the most.

In terms of transaction amount, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited recorded the highest transaction today, worth Rs 420 million, 634 thousand, 981. In terms of the number of shares traded, Ghalemdi Hydro Limited recorded the highest transaction, worth 454 thousand, 371 shares.
