NEPSE rises by 29 points to settle at 2,693.12

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange has seen a 1.11 percent increase on the first day of trading this week. Today, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 29.82 points to settle at 2,693.12.

According to NEPSE, 15,572,862 shares of 323 companies were bought and sold 76,354 times, with a transaction value of Rs 7.568226,197, according to NEPSE.

Today, the sub-index of the mutual fund subgroup decreased by 0.15 and the business group decreased by 0.26 percent, while the sub-index of all other groups increased. In today’s trading, the finance group increased by 2.01, investment by 2.18 and other groups by 2.08 percent.

Banking and finance increased by 0.82 percent, hotels and tourism by 1.41 percent, hydropower by 1.54 percent, life insurance by 0.85 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.58 percent, microfinance by 0.62 percent, and non-life insurance by 0.78 percent.

The share price of Joshi Hydropower Development Company Limited increased by the highest by 9.97 percent. The share price of Prabhu Smart Fund decreased by the highest by 5.79 percent.

In terms of transaction amount, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited recorded the highest transaction today, worth Rs 690 million, 1977 thousand, 411. In terms of number of shares traded, Nepal Investment Mega Bank Promoter Shares recorded the highest transaction of 850 thousand, 809 units.
